Tomorrow, Eric and I will celebrate a year of engagement – 147 days until we walk down the aisle! Our first weekend as an engaged couple we did landscaping (check out last year’s blog post), so it’s only fitting that we turn this into a tradition …
We started off the morning at Family Tree Nursery to pick out flowers for a couple of pots and a flower bed.

We went a little crazy, but couldn’t help ourselves … so many beautiful blooms to choose from.

After a quick stop at Lowe’s Home Improvement for top soil, potting soil and mulch, we made a trip to Tractor Supply to get some crazy looking tool to get the footers from our old deck out of the ground.
Project One: dig out the giant hunk of concrete in the yard …

Project Two: turn our vegetable garden into a flower garden for this season. With wedding festivities, work, travel, friends and family time, we decided this summer to take a break from a large garden, and plant a few veggie garden essentials in pots instead.

Project three: plant a few vegetable pots for the deck, and flower pots for the front porch.

We opted for jalapeños, red peppers, tomatoes and butter lettuce.

Not too shabby for a Sunday! The next project … fire pit.
