This past weekend marked 45 days until Christmas. Eeeek, so exciting!
The winter holidays are my absolute favorite time of year, so I (not so) patiently wait until the weather turns cold and the days get shorter to break out the “Fairway Fur” and “Apple Spice” candles from Lake Candles, and “Holiday” from Pickwick & Co. – and I can’t wait to try the “Mahomes for the Holidays” scent they just launched.
Anyways … this year we’re hosting Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving, we’re headed out of town for a wedding and are planning a few get togethers with friends, so my free weekends are in short supply. That meant decorate for Christmas this weekend or bust.
I’ve been keeping an eye on holiday trends for 2018, while sticking with the traditional red, white and green theme I usually gravitate towards.
A few trends I’m really liking this season:
Modern Classic | Plaid | Mercury Glass | Farmhouse | Deep Green
Check out a few ways I’ve incorporated these looks into our winter decor:
Modern Classic | geometric white deer and polar bear | similar look here
Farmhouse | metal olive bucket |similar look here
Plaid | stockings | similar look here
(p.s. the third stocking is for our pug, Turk, and don’t mind the Dateline episode on my TV, haha!)
Deep Green | pine needle garland | similar look here
Mercury Glass | ornaments | similar look here
Deep Green | mini fur trees |get it here
Classic Modern | glitter trees | similar look here
Farmhouse | French drying tray (antique) | similar look here
Plaid | buffalo check table throw | get it here
I also got these buffalo check pillows, these plaid pillows and this serving platter to tie the kitchen and living room together. Part of the fun is taking things you already have from past years and adding in new pieces that complement your overall style.
