Something Old, New, Borrowed & Blue … But Most Importantly I Need You

Over the past month or so, I had a wonderful time asking four very special ladies to stand up with me on the big day. I wanted to make my “ask” a little fun, so I created boxes full of things I knew they’d love (and included a few of my favorites, too!).

I found the most amazing graphic designer on Etsy to help me create custom cards asking these ladies to be my matron of honor and bridesmaids.

Wanting to stay in the theme of florals and pink, I went on a search to find the right items to include in the boxes.

I started by checking out one of my favorite jewelry boutiques, Stella & Dot. The sparkle studs instantly caught my eye. Sophisticated and timeless, every girl needs a great pair of go-to earrings.

Next, I explored World Market for candles and soap. The Blue Lotus Veronica jar candle is one of my favorites, and the Mango & Lotus Flower luxury soap is heavenly. And, last but not least, who doesn’t need a little “hi maintenance” Essie nail polish?

After an evening of wine and kleenex writing notes to each of of these women … reminiscing from our days at KU, moments we’ve shared along the way, and what to look forward to next … I got the boxes assembled and ready for delivery.

From mailing one half way across the country, hiding one until the end of dinner, springing one out in the middle of coffee, and stashing one in my carry-on luggage, it was incredibly to share yet another a special moment with each of these ladies.

I can’t imagine anyone else other than these four women standing next to me as I say “I do” to Eric, and I am incredibly blessed to have them be a part of our big day.
