It may be 80 degrees in Kansas City for Halloween this year, but that isn’t stopping me from getting excited about fall and sweater weather.
About a month ago, Eric indulged me as I redecorated our living room from a bachelor-chic space to something with a softer, more modern-traditional look and feel.
We added two espresso bookcases and side lamps from Nebraska Furniture Mart, throw pillows from Pottery Barn and a KC sign sold at Urban Table … among lots of other accessories from my “hidden stash” (according to Eric) of stuff from my office and tucked away spots in closets throughout the house.
Now, don’t look too closely at the bookcases – they haven’t been properly styled yet. I’m hoping to do some antiquing for pieces soon.
While Eric planted mums in our flower pots, I transformed our summer wreath to an autumn look.
Last weekend, I had some time to do a little shopping at two of my favorite boutiques, Olathe Glass & Home Decor and Bella B Decor. I picked up a few pieces for fall – have to love wooden pumpkins and metallic leaves on sale – and then grabbed a few “designer porch pumpkins” from the grocery store down the street.
But, I feel like I’m a little late to the game … there are already winter holiday decorations in all of these stores! Is it too soon to start brainstorming Christmas tree decor?!
